Hello John,

Good to hear back from you.  I am glad that you are satisfied with $40, which is, of course, in US funds.  I do not actually have a bank account that can accept US funds, so if you insist on sending a cheque, then I will have to ask that you do so in Canadian funds once converted by the appropriate conversion.  Shipping will also be on top of this, so I need to know precisely where it will be shipped and by which means in order to establish the cost of shipping.  As the ad states, FOB British Columbia.  In fact, I might be able to have it shipped N.A. wide through my company at a very small charge.

I am very excited to meet other cycling enthusiasts.  What is your country of origin and your mother tongue.  I gather that it is not English.  What are your interests in cycling?  I have a long history in road, but am also into off-road and track now.

I will contact the advertiser to have the ad removed as soon as we have our arrangements finalized.  Bear in mind that their service is voluntary and so there is no guarantee as to how fast it will actually be removed.  It is necessary first to ensure that the part will work for you as there will be no returns if you are unsatisfied.  You did not answer my question about the BB.  My experience is that they are not completely universal.  I have one that I could sell you, but it's not in particularly great condition.   Nevertheless, I did use it until recently and it did not cause me any problems.  It is a standard taper, so you should be able to find a new one.

Are you building a collector's item?  It sounds as though you will have to go through a lot of trouble to purchase this part (with the business associate), so I want to make sure that it will be worth your while.  Are you really clear on where I live?  It might be a long drive to pick it up.

I can assure you that I am honest and trustworthy and am well known in the cycling community locally.

This whole thing might be easiest handled if we could simply talk to the phone.  Perhaps, then, you could give me your phone number and I could simply phone you or you could call me during business hours.

Please clarify these point and then we can continue.

Kindest regards,

Cam

Hello John,

Nice to hear from you.  Glad to hear your business is successful.  The amount I am asking is unchanged from the ad.  The cranks are used, though in excellent condition.  I can provide you with pictures, so please specify exactly what you want, including the resolution, and I will be happy to send them along.  Do you have a BB that will work with this?  Where are you located and how would you like it shipped?  I require full payment in advance of shipping.

Best regards,
